Hunt’s reflect on a successful Glastonbury Festival

Hunt’s Food Group have been delivering to Glastonbury Festival since 2013, initially we were one of three suppliers, but we’ve built a fantastic relationship with the festival providing an excellent service and this year we were the main food wholesaler for frozen, ambient and butchery.

Keith Snook, our Logistics Manager, has been heading up Hunt’s @ Glasto since 2013 and manages a team of 24 people onsite at the festival. This team of people are made up of existing staff, ex-employees who come out of retirement or take time out to help or general helpers who have been part of the Hunt’s @ Glasto crew since 2013.

At our Glastonbury compound we have 5 artic trailers full of stock, an onsite office, a telehandler, 9 Gators that run product around the site and caravan accommodation for our team. We then run 12 HGVs into the festival site each day, leaving our Sherborne depot at 4:00am and meeting up with a Gator driver and member of the Hunt’s @ Glasto crew to deliver product to stall holders. If customers run out of stock and need top ups, they visit the onsite compound where we pick, invoice and sell them products.

Hunt’s also operate a burger, coffee and pie stall onsite at Glastonbury Festival that is run by Sam King (Production Director). Thorner’s have always supplied meat and had stalls at Glastonbury and again have a loyal contingent of family, friends and colleagues that come back each year to do the festival.

The Thorner’s site is based within two miles of the festival in Pylle and Mr Michael Eavis himself visits the Farm Shop and Den.

This year was a record year with sales totalling over £1m and operationally it was the smoothest yet. Thomas Hunt mentions “It’s remarkable that we are able to set up and take down a £53,000,000 business in a week and its testament to our amazing team both on-site, at our Sherborne and Pylle depots”.

Keith Snook mentions “This year was our best yet! Record sales, amazing people, and fewest issues. On-site we had a great team, supported by a great group of drivers lead by Pete Hancock and the pick accuracy and presentation was the best yet so big thanks to Ben Skipper and the Sherborne Warehouse Team”.

Massive thanks to all involved and roll-on Glastonbury 2023!
